TATTOO AFTERCARE
CLING FILM
Upon completion of your tattoo, follow these steps for proper care:
1. Remove the cling film after two hours.
2. Wash the tattoo gently with warm water and unscented soap.
3. Pat it dry using a clean, dry towel.
4. Apply a thin layer of the recommended balm, ensuring the skin appears glossy.
5. Reapply the balm 4-5 times daily or as needed throughout the initial two-week healing period.
6. Avoid peeling any skin, as it may result in ink loss from your tattoo.

SECOND SKIN
Once your tattoo has been completed and covered with Second Skin, please follow these steps:
1. Leave the Second Skin on for 3–5 days (or as advised by your artist). It is normal for fluid and ink to collect underneath—this is part of the healing process.
If the Second Skin becomes loose, leaks, or peels off early, remove it immediately.
2. To remove, gently peel it away in the shower under warm running water—do not rip it off dry.
3. Once removed, wash the tattoo gently with warm water and an unscented soap.
4. Pat dry with a clean towel or allow it to air dry.
5. Apply a thin layer of your recommended aftercare balm, keeping the tattoo lightly moisturised (not over-saturated).
6. Continue to clean and moisturise the tattoo 2–3 times daily for the remainder of the healing period (around 2 weeks).
7. Do not pick or scratch the tattoo, as this can affect healing and cause ink loss.
WHAT TO AVOID WHILST HEALING
-
Shower Sensibly: Keep showers brief (under 10 minutes) to prevent loosening scabs, which can impede healing.
-
Avoid Immersion: Refrain from swimming in the ocean, pools, or hot tubs/saunas until your tattoo has fully healed.
-
Hands Off: Resist the temptation to scratch, scrub, or pick at your new tattoo to prevent interference with the healing process and potential scarring. Use the recommended balm for relief from itching.
-
Sun Safety: Wait until your tattoo is completely healed (around 6 weeks) before exposing it to sunlight or using tanning beds. Always use high-quality sunscreen afterward, but never on a healing tattoo.

PIERCING AFTERCARE
PIERCING AFTERCARE
Once your piercing has been completed, please follow these steps:
1. Always wash your hands before touching or cleaning your piercing.
2. Clean the front and back of your piercing with sterile saline solution 2–3 times daily.
3. Gently dry the area with clean cotton swabs and avoid twisting or playing with the jewellery.
4. Keep your original surgical titanium jewellery in place for at least 6 weeks. Avoid gold or silver jewellery for the first 12 weeks.
5. Avoid pools, tanning beds, makeup, lotions, and bathwater for at least 3 weeks.
6. Keep bedding and clothing clean to reduce irritation and infection.
7. Mild swelling, itching, crusting, and bleeding are normal during healing. Even if it feels healed, the inside may still be recovering.
8. Do not remove jewellery during healing, as the piercing can shrink or close quickly.
9. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the studio or come and see us.

WHAT TO AVOID WHILST HEALING
-
Keep It Clean & Dry: When showering, avoid direct high-pressure water on your piercing and gently pat the area dry afterward with a clean paper towel.
-
No Swimming: Avoid pools, hot tubs, saunas, lakes, and the ocean until your piercing is fully healed, as bacteria and chemicals can cause irritation or infection.
-
Do Not Touch or Twist: Avoid touching, spinning, or playing with your jewellery. Picking away any crusting can delay healing and lead to irritation or scarring. Always wash your hands before cleaning your piercing.
-
Avoid Irritation: Be careful with clothing, hair, headphones, helmets, and sleeping positions that may snag or put pressure on the piercing while it heals.
-
Protect the Area: Avoid makeup, fake tan, skincare products, and sunscreen directly on or around the piercing until fully healed. Excessive sun exposure can also irritate a healing piercing.
